Yesterday night, the players field of the WPT Legends of Poker tournament’s Main Event, hosted at The Bicycle Hotel & Casino, was reduced to the final 24 players, with the two-time World Poker Tour Champion JC Tran emerging as chip leader.
Tran is to proceed to Day 4 of the event with a massive stack amounting to 3,061,000 in chips, which puts him in the lead for a potential third World Poker Tour title that could be added to his possessions.
Who Is JC Tran?
Justin Cuong Van Tran, or JC Tran, is a Viatnamese-American poker pro, has taken part in numerous poker tournaments. In fact, the 40-year-old player has extensive experience in the live poker arena. So far, he is a two-time World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet winner, World Poker Challenge winner, as well as a World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) Main Event champion.

Other Notable Players Who Proceed to Day 4
Of course, JC Tran is not the only familiar face among the final 24 players who are to proceed to Day 4 of the Season XVI WPT Legends of Poker Main Event. His fellow two-time WPT champions Marvin Rettenmaier and Tuan Le were also on the way to Day 4, holding chip stacks of 628,000 and 1,200,000, respectively. The two of them are also the last remaining members of the WPT Champions Club, so each of them would be strongly motivated to add another WPT title to their current ones.
The three of them will be also looking to join the players who are tied with the record of having three WPT titles. For the time being, there are five of them – Gus Hansen, Carlos Mortensen, Darren Elias, Anthony Zinno and Chino Rheem.
Another player who has his eyes on the WPT Main Event title is the recently-announced WPT Raw Deal analyst Phil Hellmuth, who is to proceed to Day 4 with a total of 790,000 in chips. If Hellmuth succeeds in making in to the first place, this would be his first World Poker Title so far.
Other popular players who proceed to the fourth day of the Main Event are David Baker, Oddie Dardon, Jared Griener, David “Doc” Sands, Garrett Greer, etc.
